Mondelez Philippines champions gender equality through leadership and community action

Mondelez International Philippines has reaffirmed its commitment to gender equality through leadership and community action. The company marked Women's Month by joining the Filipina CEO Circle's Women's Run PH for the third year running. Employees and executives alike took part, highlighting the firm's push for workplace diversity and broader social impact.

On 9 March, 75 Mondelez employees—both women and men—ran in the Women's Run PH to promote solidarity and gender equality. The event aligned with this year's theme, 'WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society', which stresses collaboration and shared responsibility in creating opportunities for women.

The company's dedication to women's advancement extends beyond symbolic gestures. Aleli Arcilla, the first female Managing Director of Mondelez Philippines, leads a team where 66.7% of top leaders are women. This figure far exceeds the national average of 40% for similar multinational firms in the country. Globally, women hold 45% of seats on Mondelez's Executive Leadership Team, though regional differences persist—50% in the US, 35% in India, and 30% in Brazil.

To support women at all career stages, Mondelez offers flexible work policies, leadership training, and wellness programmes. Beyond the workplace, initiatives like Aling Tindera help women micro-entrepreneurs generate income by recovering plastic waste. These efforts reflect the company's broader goal: fostering inclusive workplaces while uplifting communities through economic empowerment.

Mondelez International's participation in the Women's Run PH underscores its long-term strategy to drive gender equality. Through leadership representation, workplace policies, and community programmes, the company continues to create pathways for women's success. The initiatives aim to build a future where advancing women's roles benefits progress for all.
