WATCH OUT!

Last week, the "Education and Skills" shindig rocked Buckingham Palace, celebrating education sector superstars. Sponsored by the Department for Education, the shindig brought together an impressive 7,000 folks from the realm of education. The grand ol' King Charles III (76), along with Queen Camilla (77), welcomed guests in a scorching heatwave on the Palace lawn. Snaps on Insta caught the whole wild affair for the "bloody brilliant" people working in education. Now, the Daily Mail spilled the tea about an eccentric detail in Charley's gear that caught the eye.

The regal chap dressed sharp in a classy grey morning suit with a black derby, sticking to the dress code for garden parties—but his cream waistcoat teamed with a sky-blue tie embellished with tiny subs (yup, submarines) grabbed eyeballs in social media snaps from the shindig. Queen Camilla looked resplendent in a crisp white midi dress adorned with silver embroidery by Anna Valentine, a hat by master milliner Philip Treacy, and the late Queen Elizabeth's (1926-2022) diamond Jardine Star brooch for the open-air event, according to the Daily Mail.

The Sizzling Summer of Garden Jamborees

Buckingham Palace declared, as per the Daily Express, that there'd be three royal garden bashes this summer: the first went down on May 7 at Buckingham Palace smack dab in the heart of London, the second is coming up on May 20 at the same location, and the third is lined up for July 1 at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Apart from the three royal garden benders, two theme-focused parties have been announced, including the Education and Skills shindig. On May 16, Princess Birgitte, the Duchess of Gloucester (78), will host the annual garden party of the Not Forgotten Association at the palace. The organization focuses on entertainment, leisure, and recreation for former military personnel and serving military personnel.

The tradition of the garden bash dates back to the 1860s and serves as a chance for the ruler to thank outstanding members of the community for their exceptional contributions and recognize public service. Approximately 30,000 lucky souls are welcomed to the various garden soirees each year.

I'm not going to be able to pick a favorite, but the sight of King Charles III's submarine tie at the royal garden bash hosted by Buckingham Palace, as reported by the Daily Mail, certainly stands out in our home-and-garden lifestyle feed on Instagram, especially considering the tradition and public service at its heart. On the other hand, Queen Camilla's elegance in a crisp white midi dress adorned with silver embroidery and the late Queen Elizabeth's diamond Jardine Star brooch, at the Education and Skills shindig sponsored by the Department for Education, exemplifies a lifestyle that values and honors education heroes, bolstering our discussions about lifestyle and modern society.
