Mobile biology exhibit embarks on tour

The Bio-Mobil Roadshow, a traveling event focused on promoting organic and regional food systems, has made its way to Bremen. From August 13 to August 23, 2025, Domshof square will serve as the hub for this educational and interactive event.

The Bio-Mobil Roadshow aims to reach people in their daily lives and convey the benefits of an ecological lifestyle for people, the environment, animals, and climate. Its goals include supporting regional organic food production, educating the public on the benefits of organic farming, and inspiring sustainable food choices through interactive activities such as farm tours, cooking shows, tastings, and exhibitions.

The opening event on August 13 was marked by a festive atmosphere, featuring live music, a panel discussion titled "Stadt.Land.Bio - How does regional nutrition succeed in Bremen?", and booths from regional organic producers offering food tastings like ice cream from Biohof Kaemena and vegetables from Rhizom Gärtnerei.

Kathrin Moosdorf, Senator for Environment, Climate, and Science, welcomed attendees at the event. The panel discussion featured Harje Kaemena from Biohof Kaemena and Kerstin Hintz, Managing Director of Bioland e.V. Lower Saxony/Bremen, who shared their insights on the role of organic food in Bremen’s environmental policies, organic food supply chains, and institutional catering in schools and daycare centers.

Throughout the event, visitors can engage in various activities, including live music and culinary exhibitions, market stalls with bioland-certified farm products (bakery goods, farm ice cream, vegetables), podium discussions about the role of bio in Bremen’s environmental policies, organic food supply chains, and institutional catering in schools and daycare centers, and invitations to visit local organic farms to experience sustainable agriculture firsthand.

Kerstin Hintz stated that the Bio-Mobil Roadshow brings ecological agriculture to life and offers a city-countryside symbiosis experience for all ages. The event also addresses the opportunities and challenges of future-proof agricultural policy in urban and rural areas.

The Bio-Mobil Roadshow provides a comprehensive and engaging platform to experience organic food culture and learn about sustainable regional food systems in Bremen. The roadshow's goal is to make organic tangible and foster dialogue between producers, consumers, and political actors.
