Meditative shopping journey provided in space-aged installation by Oliver Spencer during London Design Festival
London-based designer Oliver Spencer is once again opening the doors of his Shoreditch store to the local community, this time as a creative platform during the London Design Festival 2025. The store, located on Calvert Avenue, will be home to a unique, immersive experience called 'The Loop', an installation by Studio Rythmics.
Studio Rythmics, a London-based design studio co-founded by Chien and Su, is responsible for this debut public exhibition. Known for their meditative installations, 'The Loop' is no exception. This installation has even influenced parts of Oliver Spencer's future clothing collections.
Oliver Spencer, who is famous for his contemporary take on classic British menswear silhouettes, discovered Studio Rythmics through a friend who is a lecturer at Goldsmiths University. The designer believes in bringing creativity into his stores, making them more than just retail spaces, but hubs for the local community.
The London Design Festival 2025 is a multi-day event celebrating creativity and innovative design. This year marks the second year in a row for the festival, which includes a design district called the Shoreditch Design Triangle. Previous in-store exhibitions, such as Mac Collins' "Iklwa" chair, have been successful for Oliver Spencer.
'The Loop' by Studio Rhythmics is on display until September 21, 2025, at Oliver Spencer's Shoreditch store on Calvert Avenue, London E2 7JP. If you're in the area, be sure to stop by and experience this meditative installation for yourself.
Oliver Spencer also has stores in Soho, Bloomsbury (two on Lamb's Conduit Street), and a new store in Marylebone. Each store reflects his craft-focused approach and commitment to community engagement.
The London Design Festival 2025 is a celebration not to be missed. With its focus on creativity and innovation, it promises to inspire and delight visitors. Make sure to add it to your calendar and explore the various exhibitions and installations, including 'The Loop' at Oliver Spencer's Shoreditch store.
