Master Gardeners transform local spaces with hands-on workshops and creativity
Goodhue County Master Gardeners have been busy with a range of community projects across the area. From hands-on workshops to educational classes, their work has reached gardens, libraries, and local events. One recent highlight was a creative workshop at Featherstone Community Garden, where participants learned to craft natural edging from garden materials.
A workshop at Featherstone Community Garden focused on making natural windfall edging using twigs and sticks. The session brought together Master Gardeners, members of the Horticulture Society, and Groundwork UK, an organization supporting environmental projects. Attendees worked with materials sourced directly from their own gardens.
These projects show the Master Gardeners’ commitment to sharing skills and fostering community engagement. Workshops, classes, and ongoing advice sessions provide residents with practical knowledge for gardening and food preservation. The initiatives also encourage participation from people of all ages, from teens to experienced gardeners.
