Mass Public Uproar for a Healthy and Pleasant Surrounding under Taza's New Initiative
The "Clean Kazakhstan" Movement's Continued Success
The weekly "Clean Wednesday" ecological action, spearheaded by the AMANAT party as part of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's nationwide initiative, continues to thrive throughout Kazakhstan. Each week, various regions of the country host large-scale clean-up events aimed at instilling a newfound respect for nature and fostering unity within society.
The participants of these events span all walks of life, including party officials at various levels, party branch employees, youth wing "Zhasar Rukhy" activists, volunteers, and concerned citizens. Together, they clean up essential territories such as river and lake banks, streets, parks, squares, and areas surrounding monuments and memorial sites.
For instance, in the village of Shieli, Kyzylorda region, party members honored the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory by tidying up a street named after World War II veteran Imamtai Aldabergenov. They also removed dead grass and planted flowers, emphasizing the action's purpose to preserve the memory of the heroes' deeds and instill respect for their names in future generations.
Zhіbek Baymuratova, executive secretary of the party's regional branch, remarked, "Today, we tidied up the street named after war veteran Imamtai Aldabergenov to honor his achievements. Although the hero is no longer among us, his name lives on, and we want this place to always remain clean and well-maintained. Cleanliness is also a form of gratitude for his deeds."
In the Jetisu region, the "Clean Wednesday" action took place in Aksu district, with over 230 individuals—including students and local residents—cleaning public spaces, accumulating over 10 tons of waste.
Similarly, in Atyrau region, the AMANAT party's branch in the village of Kurmangazy hosted events, with employees, deputies, and youth members planting trees and cleaning up their surrounding areas.
The villagers of Terisakkan, Ulytau region, banded together to collect 100 bags of waste in half a day. Party members and local residents also whitewashed tree trunks, painted curbs, and tidied up public spaces.
Nurlan Omarbekov, a resident of Terisaqkan, shared his sentiments: "For villagers like us, cleanliness isn't just about appearances. It's about respect for our land and those living nearby. When we come together for such events, you feel like you're doing something meaningful, not just for yourself but for the future. I hope our children and grandchildren can see a clean, well-maintained village, and they will love and care for their homeland too."
In Mangistau region's Shetpe village, district maslikhat deputies and members of the primary party organizations "Shetpe" and "Ushatagan" planted over 20 poplar saplings and collected 120 kilograms of trash.
In Shymkent, over 100 people worked together to clean the riverbank of the Koskar-ata river, accumulating around 1 ton of trash with help from the communal services. Party members noted that these events not only enhance the ecological environment but also foster a sense of responsibility for the city's cleanliness.
Worth mentioning, similar actions are unfolding across the country, with over 120,000 tons of trash collected and more than 100 rivers, lakes, and water bodies cleaned since June last year under the "Taza Beisembi" campaign. Over 70,000 individuals have participated in these nationwide events, revealing that the campaign has become a widespread phenomenon, and the culture of cleanliness and respect for nature is gaining significance in Kazakh life.
