Her garden bloomed with life, just as she nurtured her community. Now, family and friends gather to honor a woman whose kindness outlasted seasons.

Mary S. Auker, beloved Mennonite matriarch and gardener, dies at 88

Mary S. Auker, a long-standing member of the Denver Broncos Mennonite Church, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the age of 88. Born in New Holland, Pennsylvania, to Levi and Emma (Stauffer) Zimmerman, she was known for her love of gardening and her warm hospitality, often preparing meals for family and friends.

Mary was the wife of the late Edwin S. Auker. She is survived by her son, Donald Ray Auker, her daughters JoAnne Boll and Lois Dawn Myer, as well as 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Two brothers and five sisters also remain.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four brothers, two sisters, and her grandson Ryan Boll. A viewing will take place on Sunday, January 4, from 2 to 5 PM at the Denver Broncos Mennonite Church. Funeral services will follow on Monday, January 5, at 10 AM at the same location.

Mary’s legacy includes her deep connection to her faith community and her passion for flowers and gardening. The family will gather to honour her life during the upcoming services, remembering her kindness and the joy she brought to others.
