Lukeryinsky Pond shines again after community-driven lighting repairs
Outdoor lighting at Lukeryinsky Pond in Kstovo has been fully restored after months of complaints from the community. The popular recreational spot, often visited by families, now benefits from brighter and safer evening walks. Local authorities and community officers worked together to fix the long-standing issue.
Community members had raised concerns about poor lighting around the pond for some time. The problem stemmed from a damaged section of self-supporting insulated wire, which required replacement.
The Kstovo District Administration secured funding to address the issue. Repairs included replacing old fixtures and upgrading to modern LED bulbs. Local community officers also played a key role in coordinating the project.
Lukeryinsky Pond is a well-known area for leisure activities, attracting families and visitors for strolls and outdoor gatherings. The improvements have already made a noticeable difference, with residents reporting a safer and more pleasant environment in the evenings.
This effort aligns with the Social Community Officer project, launched in 2023 to strengthen ties between the community, local authorities, and community initiatives.
The restored lighting ensures better visibility and security for visitors at Lukeryinsky Pond. The collaboration between the district administration and community officers resolved a persistent community issue. Residents can now enjoy the area more comfortably after dark.
