Lörrach District Celebrates International Women's Day 2026 with Over 20 Events
From early March through May, Lörrach District will mark International Women's Day 2026 with a diverse program of more than 20 events. Running from March 2 to May 20, the lineup includes activities in Lörrach, Weil am Rhein, Grenzach-Wyhlen, and Schopfheim, as well as several online offerings.
Around March 8, numerous institutions, associations, and organizations are joining forces. In Lörrach, City Hall will host the exhibition "10×10 Women" from March 2 to 9. On March 7, Hebelplatz will feature information booths and a poster campaign by DHBW Lörrach on women's advancement in the workplace from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.. That evening, the Steffi Lais Band will perform a benefit concert at Alte Halle Haagen, followed by a dance event at Nellie Nashorn starting at 9 p.m.
On March 8, the Dreiländermuseum will screen the film "I Am a Woman", followed by a storytelling café for discussion. Amnesty International will also provide information on persecuted female human rights defenders.
Beyond Lörrach, the program includes a workshop at the Kesselhaus Cultural Center in Weil am Rhein on March 5, while Grenzach-Wyhlen will debut the "Blood Red Shoes" art installation on March 7. From March 9 to May 20, the Kulturfabrik Schopfheim will present a poster exhibition.
Online lectures on menopause in the workplace and stalking round out the schedule. The full program is available online.
