Local Paper Exhibition Make a Comeback: Return of the second edition of Bucharest's compact art fair, centered around works on paper.
The Smallest Art Fair in Town (SAT) is back for its second edition, taking place from the 3rd to the 6th of July, 2025, at Salon de Papier in Bucharest, Romania. This year's theme is "Interrupted Realities", inviting visitors to delve into the boundaries between the visible and invisible, the concrete and illusory, at a time when reality itself seems to be fragmenting.
SAT 2025 aims to reflect on living under an "infocracy" regime, where reality is shaped by accelerated data flows and contradictory signals rather than direct experience or coherent narratives. The artistic works on display will act as micro-resistances to this dominant logic, inviting viewers to engage with discontinuous, fractured visual realities that resist instant understanding and encourage critical thought and reflection.
Eight galleries from Romania and Moldova will be participating in this year's event, including GAEP, H'ART, JECZA, LUTNIȚA, MOBIUS, PLAN B, SECTOR 1, and SUPRAINFINIT. These galleries represent contemporary Romanian artists who contribute diverse works on paper that embody the theme of fractured or interrupted realities through visual fragments challenging the dominant informational landscape.
The fair is open to the general public and is free to attend, making it an accessible and engaging event for both experienced collectors and newcomers to contemporary art. The artworks selected for SAT discuss the fractured reality of our times, proposing visual interrogations that slip through the layers of the visible and create space for critical reflection.
The artistic act in this edition of SAT is seen as a means of reconnecting with perception and reflection. The opening photo for the event is Christian Jankowski's Exhibition Review II, displayed at Suprainfinit Gallery.
