Levi Strauss' German Distribution Center Wins Prestigious Logix Award 2025 for Sustainability

The Levi Strauss & Co. European Distribution Center in Dorsten, Ruhr area, has been recognised with the prestigious Logix Award 2025 for logistics real estate. Completed in October 2023, the LEED Platinum-certified building spans approximately 73,000 square meters and is a pioneering example of sustainable logistics development.

Delta Development Germany, the project's developer, expressed delight in winning the award. The winning project is the first logistics real estate development in Germany designed according to the Cradle-to-Cradle philosophy, focusing on the circular economy. The building's architecturally attractive facade contributes to its overall sustainability, while WELL Platinum-designed workspaces prioritise social sustainability.

Materials recovered from demolition were reused in the construction, further enhancing the project's sustainability. Delta Development ensures a positive greenhouse gas balance over the entire lifecycle of the building by avoiding CO2 emissions during construction and operation. The distribution center is powered by a 3.45 MWp PV system combined with a 1 MW battery storage system, along with geothermal and photovoltaic energy for fossil-free heating and cooling supply.

The Levi Strauss & Co. European Distribution Center in Dorsten stands as a testament to sustainable logistics development. Its innovative design, commitment to the circular economy, and use of renewable energy have earned it the Logix Award 2025, setting a new standard for logistics real estate in Germany.
