Landshut's New Cycling Guide Unveils 29 Scenic Routes for All Riders

A new cycling tour guide for the Landshut region will launch at the upcoming Environmental Fair. The booklet, a joint project by the Landshut District Authority and the city, features 29 routes for all levels. Visitors can pick up free copies at the fair from March 13–15, 2026.

The guide covers a wide range of cycling options. One highlight is the 240-kilometre NiederbayernTOUR, split into seven stages. For those seeking shorter trips, 'after-work rides' start at just 14 kilometres.

Each route includes a map, a brief description, and access to extra details via QR code or online. Cyclists can also use the Time Machine app to explore cultural and historical points along the way. No other Bavarian region currently offers a similar guide with digital extras.

To encourage train travel, Südostbayernbahn provides free bike transport on routes within the network. The funding comes from the districts involved in the initiative.

The brochure will be available at tourism offices in Landshut city and district, or as a download from www.erleben.landshut.de. Fair attendees can also grab a copy—and a separate Leisure Guide—at the Region Landshut booth (H009).

The guide aims to make cycling more accessible across the region. With free train transport, digital tools, and varied routes, it offers something for both casual and serious riders. Brochures will remain available after the fair at local tourism offices and online.
