Lacey Green Village breaks ground near Montreal’s future REM station

A major housing project on Montreal’s West Island has reached a crucial stage. Lacey Green Village, a joint development by Prével and TGTA, is now under construction near the future Fairview-Pointe-Claire REM station. The site spans nearly 1.6 million square feet, just south of Brunswick Boulevard in Kirkland.

The project follows six years of public consultation with Kirkland officials and over 500 residents. Earlier proposals faced strong opposition, but the final plan was adjusted to reflect community feedback. Despite past concerns, the development will not include social or affordable housing units.

Lacey Green Village marks a significant step in Kirkland’s growth. The project will add nearly 1,100 new homes to the area, though none will be designated as affordable. Developers expect the first rental units to be completed in the coming months.
