Krasnodar’s bold green initiative plants thousands of trees and shrubs this autumn

Krasnodar is enhancing its green spaces with a significant tree and shrub planting initiative. This autumn, the city plans to add over 1,350 trees and 22,800 shrubs, building on last spring's successful compensatory greening efforts that saw more than 700 trees and 900 shrubs planted.

The city has chosen Chanticleer pear trees for their growth pattern that does not obstruct tram drivers' visibility. These trees will be planted alongside plane trees and lindens along Kalinin Street, with 46 of each planned. Additionally, between Kirov Street and Turgenev Street, 6,000 hibiscus bushes and 70 Chanticleer pear trees are scheduled for planting.

In preparation for next spring, the Botanical Garden of Kuban State Agrarian University has planted 150,000 tulip bulbs that will bloom across 5,000 square meters. Meanwhile, work continues to plant 300,000 biennials, including Zweiblatt plants, in city squares, boulevards, median strips, interchanges, and along major thoroughfares. These plantings are expected to enhance the city's beauty and provide environmental benefits.

By the end of the year, Krasnodar aims to have planted more than 200 trees and around 6,000 shrubs along Kalinin Street alone, contributing to the city's goal of becoming greener and more environmentally friendly.
