Krasnodar launches city-wide upgrade for playgrounds and green spaces by 2026

Krasnodar is set to upgrade its playgrounds and green spaces under a new city-wide initiative. Mayor Yevgeny Naumov announced the plans, which include renovations, new installations, and better maintenance across residential areas. The project aims to address resident concerns while expanding access to safe play and sports facilities. The city has finalised designs for updated play areas, sports facilities, and outdoor workout zones. Standardised models will be used to simplify repairs and cut costs. By 2026, at least 600 pieces of playground equipment will be refurbished or replaced.

Work is scheduled to start in 2023, with property management companies tasked with maintaining equipment on their residential grounds. The city council will collaborate with Naumov to develop new play spaces, particularly in 109 identified locations currently without playgrounds. All resident requests regarding repairs have been reviewed and will be addressed as part of the rollout. The initiative focuses on safety and accessibility. New playgrounds will meet modern standards, while existing facilities will undergo upgrades to ensure durability. The goal is to provide more recreational options for families and fitness enthusiasts across Krasnodar.

The project marks a significant expansion of Krasnodar's recreational infrastructure. With work beginning next year, residents can expect safer, better-maintained playgrounds and sports areas by 2026. The city's partnership with property managers and the council aims to ensure long-term improvements for public spaces.
