Korschenbroich’s fifth clothing swap blends sustainability with Carnival fun on January 23
Korschenbroich’s fifth clothing swap event is set for January 23, starting at 3 p.m. Organised by the local Youth Conference, the gathering encourages sustainable fashion by giving unwanted clothes a new life. Attendees can exchange their items while enjoying music, crafts, and a festive Carnival section.
The event is run by the Korschenbroich Youth Conference, a biannual forum where young residents design community projects. This year’s swap takes place at Katho St. Andy (Adolph-Kolping-Straße 2), supported by the Rhein-Kreis Neuss Youth Welfare Office, the Korschenbroich City Youth Council, and the town itself.
To enter, participants must bring clean, gently used clothing in sizes 164/XXS to XXL. The first 20 guests will also receive a free limited-edition 'Dorfkind' T-shirt. Alongside the swap, the event offers a DJ set, cozy seating, and an upcycling station for personalising new finds.
A special Carnival section will feature costumes and accessories. Donations for this area can be dropped off at Katho St. Andy from January 8 to 22, Monday to Friday, between 5 and 7 p.m.
The clothing swap aims to reduce waste while bringing the community together. With live music, creative activities, and a focus on reusing fashion, the event provides a practical way to embrace sustainability. Organisers hope for strong attendance and continued support for future initiatives.
