Three Public Spaces to Be Upgraded in Ust-Vymsky District in 2026, Reports Komi's Ministry of Construction and Housing
Komi's Year of the Village transforms rural infrastructure in 2026
In the town of Mikun, repairs will be carried out on the sidewalk along Pervomayskaya Street (even-numbered side) from Pionerskaya Street to Gogol Street.
In the urban settlement of Zheshart, a sidewalk will be built along the road of the Ust-Vym Peat Machinery Plant (OPMZ) on Industrialnaya Street (from Sverdlov Street to the driveway of building 9 on Industrialnaya Street).
In the village of Aikino, the pedestrian zone from Tsentralnaya Street to the Aikino Kindergarten No. 1 (a combined-type preschool) will be renovated.
Recall that in 2025, three public spaces were also upgraded in Ust-Vymsky District. In Zheshart, a public area near residential buildings was paved; in Mikun, a sidewalk was installed; and in Aikino, a new parking zone was created.
The improvement of public spaces in rural and urban settlements across the Republic of Komi is being implemented under the Quality of Life national project, launched at the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin, with oversight from the regional head, Rostislav Goldstein.
It is worth noting that 2026 has been declared the Year of the Village in the Republic of Komi by the regional leader. The initiative aims to address systemic challenges in rural areas, including the construction of social infrastructure, housing and utilities improvements, and the creation of comfortable living conditions in the countryside.
