Kirchzarten Perspectives exhibition celebrates six decades of local artistry

A new art exhibition is coming to Kirchzarten, offering a glimpse into the region's creative history. Titled Kirchzarten Perspectives, the display will feature works by local artists from the Dreisam Valley, covering nearly six decades of artistry. The exhibition opens with a reception on Friday, March 6, at 5 p.m. District Administrator Dr. Christian Ante and Kirchzarten Mayor Darius Reutter will give speeches, while the municipal archivist introduces the collection. The show itself runs from March 9 to May 8, open during regular office hours at the Talvogtei. Curated by Dr. Carmen Flum, head of the district's art collection, the display includes paintings, prints, and objects created between 1955 and 2014. The works come from artists based in Kirchzarten and the surrounding Dreisam Valley. This event is part of a broader initiative by Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district to bring its art collection to towns and municipalities across the region. Kirchzarten is the latest location to host the travelling exhibition. Visitors can explore the exhibition at the Talvogtei from early March until early May. The collection highlights the artistic heritage of the Dreisam Valley, making it accessible to local residents and visitors alike. The initiative aims to share the district's cultural assets more widely across the area.
