Kids Step Back in Time at Wolfenbüttel's Stone Age Adventure Workshop

A five-day 'Stone Age Adventure' workshop will take place at Wolfenbüttel's Youth Leisure Center (JFZ) from March 23 to 27. The main event is open to children aged 8 to 12 and promises hands-on activities inspired by prehistoric life. Organisers have planned a mix of crafts, experiments, and a museum visit to bring the era to life.

The workshop will run daily from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with an optional extended stay until 7 p.m. from Monday to Thursday. Children will take part in activities like fire-making with primitive tools, crafting faux fossils, and painting with natural pigments they prepare themselves. A highlight of the week includes a field trip to the Wolfenbüttel Archaeological Museum, where a guided tour will explore Stone Age daily life.

On the final day, participants will present their work in a small exhibition for family and friends. The cost for the programme is €60, which covers all materials, activities, and a warm lunch each day. Similar events in other German cities typically attract small to medium-sized groups, though exact numbers for Stone Age-themed workshops are not widely recorded.

The workshop offers a mix of practical skills and historical learning for young participants. Registration remains open for children within the age range, with organisers providing all necessary materials. The event concludes with a showcase of the children's creations, giving families a chance to see the results of the week's activities.
