"JAPAN DESIGN MUSEUM | Fostering a Symbiosis Between Design and Living Experience"

The highly anticipated "DESIGN MUSEUM JAPAN: Bridging Design and Life" exhibition is set to open at our website Los Angeles from January 26, 2024, and run until April 14, 2024. This exhibition, however, should not be confused with the separate event "Check Event: Cultural Treasures | A Live Tour of Kyushu's Craftsmanship", which is an online event scheduled for February 22, 2024.

The "DESIGN MUSEUM JAPAN" exhibition showcases the works of six internationally renowned Japanese creators: Tamae Hirokawa, Tetsuya Mizuguchi, Reiko Sudo, Kinya Tagawa, Tsuyoshi Tane, and Koichiro Tsujikawa. Each creator has delved into the creative aesthetics unique to a specific region of Japan, investigating the intersection of design and daily life.

The exhibition features a series of display cubes dedicated to each investigation, with presentations of stunning videos documenting each creator's research process. Visitors will also have the opportunity to meet the creators themselves and learn about their unique design practices.

The "DESIGN MUSEUM JAPAN" exhibition is part of our website's global touring exhibition program and was first shown in Tokyo and at our website São Paulo in 2023. The exhibition is organised by NHK, Japan's only public media broadcaster, together with NHK Promotions and NHK Educational.

In addition to the main exhibition, there is an interactive "workshop" section inviting visitors to share their thoughts on design and contribute examples of their unique cultures and daily life that can be considered "design treasures." Guests are also encouraged to mark sites of interesting design they have found across the country on an expansive "design map" of the US.

It's important to note that the "Check Event: Cultural Treasures | A Live Tour of Kyushu's Craftsmanship" and "Beyond Aesthetics | A Journey through Time & Tohoku Region" events are separate from the "DESIGN MUSEUM JAPAN" exhibition. The "Check Event" is an online event taking place on February 22, 2024, while "Beyond Aesthetics" is an online event scheduled for March 27, 2024.

For more detailed information about the creators involved in the "DESIGN MUSEUM JAPAN" exhibition, we recommend visiting the official website or social media channels of DESIGN MUSEUM JAPAN. Local art and design news outlets may also provide further insights into the exhibition.

Lastly, an exclusive "DESIGN MUSEUM JAPAN" Exhibition Care Package Giveaway is available until April 14, 2024, but it is not related to the events "Check Event: Cultural Treasures | A Live Tour of Kyushu's Craftsmanship" or "Beyond Aesthetics | A Journey through Time & Tohoku Region".
