Janet F. Bingaman, beloved Ephrata community pillar, dies at 87
Janet F. Bingaman, a lifelong resident of Ephrata Township, has passed away at the age of 87. She died on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of family, community involvement, and a long marriage of 69 years to her husband, Ronald E. Bingaman. Born in Ephrata Township, Janet was the daughter of Elias and Lena Martin. She grew up alongside four siblings—Hazel, Mildred, Thalia, and Leroy—all of whom predeceased her.
Early in her career, she worked at Keystone Nitewear. Later, she took on roles as a cafeteria worker for Cocalico School District and also worked as a realtor. Beyond her professional life, she was an active member of Swamp Lutheran Church, the Order of Eastern Star, and the Oriental Shrine. Janet had a passion for simple joys—attending public sales, tending to her garden, relaxing by the fishpond, and travelling. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family. She is survived by her husband, Ronald, their two children, Kim Weachter and Bobby Bingaman, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions in Janet's honour can be made to Hospice & Community Care. Her family remembers her as a devoted wife, mother, and community member whose presence will be deeply missed.
