Italian eats grace Glockenbach square: Savoring breakfast and brunch delights from Carlotta's kitchen

In the heart of Munich's vibrant Glockenbachviertel, a new café named Carlotta has recently opened its doors. The brainchild of 33-year-old Lino Leonhardt, a father of twins, this café is a delightful blend of bistro, Italian-French breakfast café, and brunch spot.

Leonhardt, who met his partner in the café project, Marc Li, at a coffee stand on the Viktualienmarkt, has customised the dishes at Carlotta with his own logo. The brunch menu offers a variety of options, from beef tartare and cheese or ham platters to yogurt with granola and salad. Lunch options include gnocchi and pasta with sausage. The drinks menu is equally diverse, featuring Italian wines, Augustiner beer, juices, cappuccino, and more.

The interior of Carlotta is inspired by the Parkhotel Mondschein in Bolzano, where Leonhardt got married. Along with the green, light wood and stone are used to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The green of the former toilet hut, now transformed into a unique seating area, can also be found in Carlotta. This green is adorned with pictures of Freddie Mercury, Albert Einstein, and Rainer Werner Fassbinder.

The room at Carlotta can seat 18 people indoors and 55 people in the garden. Until sufficient staff is hired and trained, Carlotta will close at 4 pm. However, if everything goes well, Leonhardt would like Carlotta to stay open longer.

Lino Leonhardt's mother, Marina Bröckelt, runs the "Marinas Feinkost" stand at the Viktualienmarkt. The name Carlotta is inspired by her, who was a single parent and self-employed.

Julius Brantner bread is available at Carlotta with various toppings, ranging from 12 to 17 euros. Unfortunately, there is no publicly available information on the current head chef of Carlotta.

Lino Leonhardt is currently seeking staff for Carlotta. Holzstraße 18 Do-Mo: 10 am to 4 pm. Visit Carlotta and experience the unique blend of flavours and ambience that Leonhardt and Li have created.
