Iran's Supreme Leader's Son Builds a Shadow Property Empire Across Europe
Mojtaba Khamenei, son of Iran's Supreme Leader, has quietly assembled a vast property empire across Europe and the Middle East. Despite lacking the clerical rank to succeed his father, he remains a powerful figure in Iran's political and financial circles.
Over the years, Mojtaba has built a network of luxury assets worth hundreds of millions. In the UK alone, he owns more than a dozen mansions valued at over £100 million. His holdings also include five-star hotels in Frankfurt and Majorca, as well as an exclusive villa in Dubai.
Investigations suggest his wealth comes from diverting profits from Iranian oil sales. He has allegedly used shell companies and intermediaries in the UK, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and the UAE to hide these transactions. Despite Western sanctions imposed in 2019, he has continued laundering billions into the West.
Mojtaba's influence extends beyond finance. As a key figure in Iran's clerical establishment, he maintains close ties to the Revolutionary Guards. However, he has also faced public backlash, particularly during protests since 2009. Anger towards him intensified after the death of Mahsa Amini in 2022, with demonstrators targeting his role in the regime.
No public records confirm who currently manages or oversees the sale of his European property network.
Mojtaba Khamenei's financial and political reach remains strong, despite sanctions and public opposition. His property empire, funded through complex offshore structures, continues to grow. Yet his lack of clerical credentials leaves his future as a potential successor uncertain.
