On August 14, the much-anticipated Honey Spas Festival will take place in Yakutsk, near the Moskovskiy shopping center. This event promises a mix of entertainment for both children and adults, with a focus on preserving and promoting local traditions, developing beekeeping, and strengthening cultural ties.

The Honey Spas Festival, also known as the First or Mow Spas, or the Wet Spas (Spas on Water) in folk tradition, is a celebration that honours the honey harvest and blessing. In Yakutsk, this traditional Slavic festival is likely to be combined with local Sakha traditional events, featuring honey blessings, folk performances, songs, and dances reflecting Indigenous Sakha culture.

Craft fairs and exhibitions of local artisan products, as well as traditional food tasting including honey-based treats, are also expected. Local beekeepers' products will be available for tasting, and an exhibition and sale of honey and beekeeping products will be held.

City residents can look forward to free pancakes and honey, making the event even more enjoyable. The Honey Spas Festival is the first of three Spas marking the end of summer in Orthodox tradition.

It's worth noting that the Honey Spas festival in Yakutsk is hosted by the Yakutsk Bee Center. For those interested in learning more about the unique folk traditions during the Honey Spas festival in Yakutsk, consulting local cultural event listings or official Yakutsk city cultural information sources would be necessary for accurate current year dates, precise program, and specific details.

In 2025, the Honey Spas festival will also be celebrated on August 14, making it an annual event worth marking in your calendar. With its blend of Indigenous Sakha and Russian cultures, the Honey Spas Festival in Yakutsk offers a unique opportunity to experience the region’s rich folk culture.
