Innovative Drone Shows and Musical Performances Along the Rhine in Dusseldorf
The Rhine fair (Rheinkirmes) in Düsseldorf, Germany, is gearing up for an exciting edition in July 2025. The event, running from July 11 to July 20, will offer free entry for all visitors.
One of the highlights of the fair will be the drone shows, which are set to captivate audiences with their immersive aerial light spectacles. The shows will merge high technology, art, and music, adding a modern twist to the traditional celebrations.
The main drone show dates to note are July 12 and July 18 at 22:30. On July 12, a major drone light show will take place, while July 18 will see a spectacular finale featuring more than 1,000 synchronized LED drones and a fireworks display over the Rhine.
The festivities will kick off earlier with an impressive drone premiere on July 16. This show will feature 1,000 drones forming 16 different motifs related to Düsseldorf and the fair, including iconic figures and abstract shapes.
Expert operators from Bremen will ensure safe and precise drone choreography for all shows.
In addition to the drone shows, the Rhine fair will also feature the St. Sebastianus Shooting Club 1316's parade on July 13. This parade will make its way through the city and the Hofgarten.
For those interested in music, the fair will host concerts in the festival tent, although the lineup and schedule are yet to be announced. On the opening night, "Kuhl un de Gäng", the "Swinging Funfares", and "Brings" will perform, and on Saturday, July 12, the Höhner will perform for 15 euros (pre-sale available).
The Rhine fair invites visitors to attend the drone show, traditional fireworks, concerts, and the St. Sebastianus Shooting Club 1316's parade. The best visibility and suitable music can be experienced by visitors at the Rhine fair, as well as from the opposite bank of the Rhine and on the Rhine bridges.
The drone shows are a step that the city has not taken yet, and many critics of the New Year's Eve fireworks have long demanded a central, environmentally friendly drone show as a replacement.
