Similarly, Unique Kitchens & Baths recently introduced a new cabinetry collection featuring pink, melon, and mint hues, following a collaboration with interior designer and stylist Parker Bowie Larson.
Vibrant Purples
2025 seems to be shaping up as a big year for purple, as indicated by color selections from prominent brands such as Glidden, Benjamin Moore, and Minwax. "Aubergine will make a striking appearance," says Kelly. "Its deep, rich hue offers a dramatic yet elegant option for accent walls or cabinetry, leaving homeowners pleasantly surprised by how effortlessly it elevates a space… while still feeling inviting."
The following year, expectations run high for bold, deeper, jewel-toned purples in the kitchen. "The popularity of busy stone slabs is driving this trend towards richer, more vivid jewel tones," comments interior designer Meredith Heron. "The contrast between richer colors and the stone adds balance."
Saturated Blues
Blues can be challenging for the kitchen, but darker, moodier shades and teals are gaining popularity. Heron links this to a growing demand for '80s and '90s aesthetics from Gen Z. "The younger generations might opt for a more vivacious teal, whereas we more vintage lovers may prefer a deeper, darker teal that strikes the right balance between retro and classy," she says.
Larson agrees that blue will be a significant trend in 2025, and Benjamin Moore's palette for the following year features similar deeper, darker blues. "These shades deliver a bold contrast against the neutral tones that have reigned supreme in kitchens in the past," claims Barbara Vargas, a product specialist at kitchen brand Nobilia. "Dark colors pair beautifully with gold or brass accents, as well as natural stone countertops, contributing to a luxurious appearance."
Rich Earth Tones
The rise of earth tones was predicted all year, and now, they have found their way into the kitchen. "What’s intriguing is the way they're being integrated," mentions Natalia Ebel, co-founder and creative director of paint brand Backdrop. "Multiple earth tones within the same space help create depth and complexity, and painting kitchen ceilings with an accent color is becoming popular as well." Pantone even named the earthy Mocha Mousse as its Color of the Year for 2025.
These earthy colors blend well with a kitchen's architectural elements. "They complement natural materials like wood and stone, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that fosters a deeper connection with nature," remarks Gideon Mendelson, interior designer and founder of Mendelson Group.
Green with a Twist
Green kitchens have been en vogue for some time. However, the focus has shifted from popular colors like sage to the contemporary olive green. "These hues lend a natural, organic quality to the home, promoting a sense of tranquility and a connection to nature," says Ebel. "While greens can be playful, they also maintain a sophisticated and cohesive appearance."
