Two very different Parisian projects show how thoughtful design can transform limited areas into stylish, functional homes.
In one project, Ono Studio reworked a 300-square-foot Parisian apartment to feel open and inviting. The goal was to maximise natural light and create an airy atmosphere. A floor-to-ceiling mirrored wall behind the dining nook reflects light deeper into the room, making the space appear larger than it is.
A round pedestal table serves as the dedicated dining spot. Nearby, a custom-built cabinet hides a fold-out desk, which tucks away neatly when unused. This clever storage solution keeps the area uncluttered while maintaining functionality. On a much grander scale, STAR strategies + architecture redesigned a 300-square-meter Paris apartment with bold, artistic touches. The interiors feature green marble accents, warm wood finishes, and striking oval cutouts in the walls. A sculptural staircase adds a dramatic focal point, blending form and function in the expansive layout.
Both projects demonstrate how design can adapt to different scales, from a cosy 300-square-foot studio to a sprawling 300-square-meter flat. The use of mirrors, custom furniture, and architectural details proves that even small spaces can feel spacious and stylish.
