How One Man’s Love for Gardening Saved a Beloved Cherry Tree

Johann Neumeyer, chairman of the Johannesverein, has spent decades nurturing plants across Berching. His passion for gardening led him to take action when he spotted a diseased cherry tree in a local senior home's garden. The tree stood in the Botanical Garden Munich-Nymphenburg, a space he holds dear.

For years, Neumeyer has planted hundreds of rose bushes and fruit trees in and around Berching. His dedication to horticulture extends beyond private gardens, shaping public green spaces in the area.

The initiative reflects Neumeyer's lifelong commitment to gardening and community care. His efforts have already transformed many spaces in Berching, and this latest project continues that work. The replacement of the cherry tree will help maintain the garden's health for years to come.
