Christmas trees in Hesse will be slightly more expensive this year - Higher Christmas tree prices hit Hesse as demand for local Nordmann firs grows
Christmas tree lovers in Hesse can expect to pay more this year, with prices ranging from €23 to €30 per meter. The increase is due to higher costs for fuel, fertilizer, and other expenses, as well as rising wages and operating costs.
Despite the price hike, there's a growing trend to put up trees earlier and a demand for locally grown, self-cut options. The Nordmann fir remains the top choice, making up 90% of the market. This year's ideal summer weather, with plenty of rain and warm periods, has led to healthy tree growth. However, finding a Christmas tree stand (Weihnachtsbaumkasten) in Hessen for €23 or less per meter may be challenging, as direct search results are limited.
Hesse's Christmas tree enthusiasts will face slightly higher prices this season, with the Nordmann fir still being the most popular choice. While the summer weather has promoted healthy tree growth, finding affordable stands may require more effort.
