Hamburg's Neuallermöhe Welcomes 28 New Canal-Side Apartments by 2026

A new residential development in Hamburg's Neuallermöhe district is set to provide much-needed rental housing. The project, located at Von-Hacht-Weg 6–8, will offer 28 apartments designed to ease pressure on the city's tight rental market. Construction is progressing, with the first tenants expected to move in by April 2026. The development consists of two four-storey buildings along the Reiherfleet canal. Each building maximises living space while maintaining a modern, functional design. Architectural firm Thüs Farnschläder Architekten created the plans, incorporating high-quality brick cladding and photovoltaic systems for sustainability.

The apartments range from one to six rooms, catering to individuals and families struggling to find suitable homes in Hamburg. All units are barrier-free and accessible via elevators, making them adaptable for different life stages. Parking includes 66 bicycle spaces and 12 car spots, reflecting the city's push for eco-friendly transport. HIG, a subsidiary of SAGA, developed the project, while steg Stadterneuerungs- und Stadtentwicklungsgesellschaft Hamburg mbH will manage it. Officials have highlighted the complex as a key step in delivering high-quality, livable housing for the city.

Tenants can begin renting the apartments from April 2026. The development's mix of accessibility, sustainability, and varied apartment sizes aims to meet diverse housing needs. With its canal-side location and modern design, the project is expected to become a valued part of Neuallermöhe's residential landscape.
