Halle's Tree-Planting Event Rescheduled for October 25, 2025

Halle (Saale)'s traditional tree-planting event has been rescheduled to October 25, 2025, due to dry weather conditions. This year, Mayor Dr. Alexander Vogt will join residents in planting trees at Dölauer Heide, coinciding with Saalesparkasse's tree-planting campaign organized by the German Forest Protection Association.

The event will kick off at 9:45 AM with a welcome by Mayor Vogt and Dr. Jürgen Fox, CEO of Saalesparkasse, at the new gathering point, the Heide-Kiosk parking lot at Salzmünder Straße 2. Volunteers will then make their way to the planting site, about one kilometer away. Ricco Siersleben, head of the city's Agriculture and Forestry team, will provide a brief introduction at the planting site. The planting will involve 8,300 trees, including hornbeams, silver birches, and pines, spread across one hectare of land.

After the successful planting, a light meal will be served at 12:30 PM to refuel the volunteers.

The rescheduled tree-planting event in Halle promises to be a significant contribution to the city's green spaces. With Mayor Vogt's involvement and the support of Saalesparkasse, the event aims to plant 8,300 trees, further enhancing the Dölauer Heide area.
