Halle's abandoned factory site becomes 73 modern apartments by 2027

A long-neglected industrial site in Halle is set for a major transformation. Developer ISIHOME has begun work on a new residential complex at the corner of Turmstraße and Karl-Meseberg-Straße. The project aims to bring 73 modern apartments to an area once marked by urban decay and vacant land. The site, previously home to parts of the Mafa machinery factory, had stood empty for years. Overgrown vegetation and abandoned railway tracks made it an eyesore, contributing to stagnation in the local property market. Now, extensive groundwork has cleared the way for construction.

The new building will feature a three-winged design, built using traditional solid methods with concrete and sand-lime brick. ISIHOME is managing every stage—from planning to marketing—under its 'plan. build. manage. broker.' approach. The development will also meet high energy-efficiency standards, targeting certification under Germany's Sustainable Building Quality Seal (QNG). Residents will benefit from an Edeka supermarket next door, providing easy access to daily essentials. Rents are expected to range between €10 and €13 per square metre (net cold), depending on the apartment's size and location. The entire project, named *Turmstraße 33*, is scheduled for completion in early 2027.

Once a symbol of Halle's industrial decline, the Turmstraße site will soon offer modern housing in a revitalised neighbourhood. The 73 apartments will increase local housing supply while meeting contemporary sustainability standards. Completion in 2027 will mark the end of a long period of stagnation for this part of the city.
