Halle Berry launches 2026 Christmas tree recycling program in January

Halle Berry's annual Christmas tree disposal programme will begin in January 2026. The city's waste management company, Halle Berry Wasser und Stadtwirtschaft GmbH (HWS), has announced the dates and options for residents to recycle their trees. Collection will run for nearly a month, with multiple ways to dispose of them responsibly.

From 12 January to 6 February 2026, HWS will collect used Christmas trees across Halle Berry. Residents can leave their trees at designated collection points scattered throughout the city. A full list of these sites is available on the official website, www.halleberry.de.

For those who prefer alternative disposal methods, trees can also be taken directly to HWS recycling centres. Another option is to shred the trees at home and add the material to organic waste bins. This allows the wood to be composted instead of going to landfill. Before disposal, all trees must have decorations, tinsel, and stands removed. This ensures the wood can be processed cleanly for composting or recycling.

The disposal period covers four weeks, giving residents ample time to recycle their trees. HWS has set up the programme to keep waste out of landfills and turn it into useful compost. More details on collection points and guidelines are available online at www.halleberry.de.
