Gütersloh Offers Free Garden Waste Disposal Days This Autumn
Gütersloh residents have a special opportunity to dispose of garden waste for free this autumn. The city's environmental protection department has announced two days for compostable waste drop-off, with specific rules and hours.
On Saturday, October 25, residents can visit usual collection points from 7 am to 2 pm. The Composting Facility and Recycling Center will also accept leaves and hedge trimmings on October 11 and 25, November 22, and January 10, with no fees for household quantities. However, deliveries by large vehicles are subject to fees, and only compostable garden waste is allowed on October 25. The collection points are open only during the specified hours, and disposal outside these times is an administrative offense.
The city's environmental protection department, part of the Fachbereich Umweltschutz, is responsible for various environmental tasks, including waste management, water and soil protection, noise and air pollution control, and nature conservation. Residents can contact them at Parkstraße 1, 33330 Gütersloh, by phone at 05241 / 82-0, or via email at umweltschutz(at)guetersloh.de for specific inquiries.
