Grocers Donating Food, Goods, and Money for Flood Aid in Texas
Grocery Stores Step Up to Aid Texas Flood Victims
In the aftermath of the devastating flash floods that hit Texas in July 2025, several grocery stores have come forward to provide assistance to the affected communities.
Walmart and Sam's Club, two major retailers, have committed to offering up to $500,000 in grants and in-kind donations. In a bid to further aid the victims, Walmart is partnering with Procter & Gamble and Matthew 25: Ministries to dispatch Tide's Loads of Truck laundry trucks and showers to the affected regions.
SpartanNash, another large grocery company, has shown its support by donating at least three truckloads of water and food for distribution through Convoy of Hope in Texas. Tony Sarsam, the president and CEO of SpartanNash, expressed his sympathies for those affected by the floods and the first responders who answered the call to service.
Local Texas-based grocery retailer, H-E-B, has personal connections to the affected areas due to its roots in Kerrville. H-E-B has been working closely with relief groups and local officials to support the ongoing relief efforts in the flood-hit regions. The company has already sent food and supplies to the towns of San Angelo and Marble Falls.
Amazon, through its subsidiary Whole Foods Market, has been coordinating the delivery of food and supplies to victims and first responders in Kerrville, Texas.
H-E-B, Walmart, and Sam's Club are not the only ones stepping up to the plate. United Supermarkets, LLC (The United Family) is donating money to assistance groups and launching a register campaign for Central Texas Flood Relief.
In a show of solidarity, Walmart and Sam's Club are also matching up to $250,000 of customer and member donations made online or in-stores in Texas. Walmart is further providing free hot meals through Operation BBQ Relief at a Supercenter in Kerrville.
As the relief efforts continue, it's heartening to see these companies coming together to support the victims of the Texas flash floods.
