Green Sauce Festival Returns to Celebrate Spring on March 21

Our City's weekly market will host the annual Green Sauce Festival on March 21, starting at 10 a.m. The event has long marked the official arrival of spring, drawing locals to celebrate with seasonal dishes and drinks.

The festival will feature a variety of traditional dishes, including fresh green sauce with potatoes, roast suckling pig, and boiled beef (Tafelspitz). A green sauce quiche will also be on offer for those wanting a lighter option. Visitors can enjoy their meals at the market or take them away in reusable containers.

Stefan Ullrich, who runs the fruit and vegetable stall, has been the driving force behind the event. This year, Osteria reBelot from Großenritte and Knallhütte restaurant will provide drinks to accompany the food. The weekly market itself has served as a community hub for decades. Organised by Stadtmarketing GmbH, it provides a familiar setting for the festival's mix of food, tradition, and local spirit.

The Green Sauce Festival continues as a long-standing tradition in the city. It brings together seasonal flavours, local vendors, and residents in a celebration of spring. The event will run from 10 a.m. at the market's usual location.
