The Balkhauser Kotten, a historic site in Solingen, is set to host its fourth Christmas stand on Saturday, December 21, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The sale will take place in the cosy winter room of the traditional business Heyderhoff, located at Cologne Street 113 near the Hofgarten.

This year's sale promises a variety of traditional Solingen gifts, including lovingly wrapped zoppes, buckels, bread knives, Christmas sets, and more. All profits from the sale will go exclusively to the Kuratorium Balkhauser Kotten e.V., an association dedicated to the restoration of the Schleiferkotten, a site with roots dating back to 1504.

The Schleiferkotten has faced challenging conditions due to the flood in July 2021, which caused damage to the Wupper riverbank, exhibition rooms, and objects at the Balkhauser Kotten. However, Ralf Hartkopf, deputy chairman of the association, is optimistic, stating that next year, the association can start restoring the exhibition.

Nicole Molinari, chairperson of the association, encourages supporters to build up a small gift reserve due to the upcoming price increase for these knives, which have not changed for 3 years. She also suggests pre-ordering items and picking them up on Saturday at the sale.

Payments can be made via PayPal for the items at the Balkhauser Kotten sale. This year, the sale will include neutral packaging for New Year's gifts and birthday presents.

It is worth noting that the Balkhauser Kotten operates entirely on a voluntary and non-profit basis. For precise information about specific discounted products and opportunities to support the restoration efforts, I recommend contacting the organizers of the Balkhauser Kotten Christmas stand directly or visiting local Solingen event websites closer to the date.

Shoppers looking to support a historic site and enjoy home-and-garden deals can visit The Balkhauser Kotten Christmas stand on December 21. During the sale, shoppers can find traditional Solingen gifts for lifestyle needs, such as zoppes, buckels, and bread knives, which will be available for pre-order and pick-up. Additionally, supporters are encouraged to consider purchasing items sooner to help manage future price increases and contribute to the restoration efforts of the Schleiferkotten.
