Giessen Workshop Transforms Old Skateboards into Stylish Eco-Friendly Accessories
A new workshop in Giessen will show participants how to turn old skateboards and wood into stylish accessories. The event, titled Creative Crafting: Making Accessories and Jewelry from Old Skateboards, is organised by the Youth Education Center of the University City of Giessen. It offers a hands-on way to explore upcycling while learning basic crafting techniques.
The session runs on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Jokus Youth and Cultural Center. No prior experience is needed, and the workshop is open to anyone interested in sustainability or creative projects. The cost to attend is nine euros per person.
Registration must be completed by April 2, 2026. Organisers aim to teach practical skills while encouraging eco-friendly habits through upcycling. This is the only upcycling workshop currently scheduled by the Youth Education Center in Giessen for the foreseeable future.
Participants will leave with handmade jewelry or accessories and a better grasp of sustainable crafting. The workshop provides a rare opportunity to repurpose materials in a guided setting. Those interested must sign up before the deadline to secure a spot.
