Giant concrete skate park unfurls in Central Asia's Almaty metropolis

On its grand unveiling day in late April, 2025, spectacles of skateboarding, kick-scootering, and BMX were the main course of an exhilarating two-day extravaganza. The skatepark, a 1,200-square-meter marvel, was born from the fusion of street culture and active lifestyles, costing an impressive 85 million tenge, as shared by Gorilla Asia.
Not just a playground, but a hub of performances and adrenaline, the skatepark unleashed a slew of high-octane tricks, emotional outbursts, and, of course, the glory of victory. Competitors left nothing on the table, showcasing raw skill, unyielding determination, and flamboyant style, merging sports, culture, and urban energy into one thrilling melange.
Talking about urban infrastructure and public engagement in sports, skateparks like this have become trendy in major cities across the globe. They not only facilitate sustainable urban development but also serve as magnets for the youth.

Adding to the family of active sports facilities in Almaty, last year saw the birth of Gorilla Under Bridge - an innovative blend of basketball court and skatepark. The location was the debut project by Gorilla Energy for sports enthusiasts and leisure-seekers in the city.
