Gelendzhik’s *Our Tree* Project Plants Hope for a Greener Future
Gelendzhik has launched a new greening project called Our Tree, aimed at planting young saplings across the city. The initiative, developed by local activists and community members, kicked off with a planting event near School No. 1. Mayor Alexey Bogodistov joined residents, youth groups, and families in the effort to expand urban greenery.
The idea for Our Tree came from environmental activists and concerned locals who wanted to improve Gelendzhik’s green spaces. Their proposal grew into a city-wide project, focusing on courtyards, streets, and public squares.
The Our Tree initiative has brought together different groups to improve Gelendzhik’s urban environment. With saplings now planted near School No. 1, the project will move to other districts. The city expects more greenery to enhance public spaces and benefit residents in the long term.
