From January seeds to July blooms: A gardener's chrysanthemum success story
Perennial chrysanthemums have gained popularity among gardeners this season. One grower has carefully nurtured a new batch of plants, aiming for vibrant blooms by late July. The process began with seeds sown in January and involved precise care at every stage.
The project started in late January when chrysanthemum seeds were planted indoors. Bona Forte fertilizers were used to encourage strong seedling development. By May, the young plants were ready for transplanting.
Each planting hole in a sunny flower bed was enriched with compost and Bona Forte Professional. The seedlings were arranged in neat rows, replacing the older cluster method for better light and airflow. A preventive spray of Quadris was applied to protect against diseases.
Throughout the growing season, the plants received regular watering and weekly checks. Foliar feeding with Bona Forte for roses and chrysanthemums supported healthy growth. Buds have now begun to form, with the first flowers expected to open by July 22.
The chrysanthemums have followed a structured growing plan, from seed to bud. Fertilisers, compost, and careful spacing have all played a role in their development. If all goes well, the garden will soon display a colourful summer bloom.
