Fresh faces join Schweinfurt's Primary Customs Office: 23 novice workers embark on their customs profession
The Main Customs Office Schweinfurt is welcoming a new cohort of recruits for the year 2026, with positions available in both the middle and higher customs service. The 23 new customs officers were sworn in and formally taken into the civil service on September 2, 2025.
The training for the middle service takes place at the customs' own training centre in Erfurt, while the theoretical parts of the training in the higher service are completed at the Federal Administrative Academy in Münster. The trainees spend their practical phases in various departments of the training customs office and at nearby customs offices.
The recruits undergoing a three-year bachelor's degree in the higher service will qualify for the academic degree "Bachelor of Laws", while those in the two-year middle service training will earn the professional title of "financial administrator".
Interested parties can apply for the positions offered by the Main Customs Office Schweinfurt and the General Customs Directorate until October 15, 2025, for a start on September 1, 2026. The General Customs Directorate is also offering a dual study of administrative informatics for the same year.
