Freiburg's Organic Seedling Market Returns After Five-Year Hiatus

After a five-year hiatus, a beloved market for gardening enthusiasts is returning to Freiburg. The Seedling Market at Mundenhof will take place once again on Sunday, May 10, 2026. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the grounds will be transformed into a gathering place for hobby gardeners from across the region, according to the city of Freiburg.

Visitors will find a wide selection of vegetable seedlings, herbs, perennials, and seeds—primarily from regional and organic production. The offerings will be complemented by expert advice and gardening tips.

The market is organized by Freiburg's Organic Model Region in collaboration with the city, reviving a long-standing tradition. Between 2013 and 2021, the ProSpecieRara Foundation had hosted the event before withdrawing from Germany.

Admission is free, and the market welcomes anyone interested in sustainable gardening and locally grown plants.
