The children are wearing colorful clothes and have bright smiles on their faces, suggesting they are having a great time. The garden is lush and green, with trees and shrubs providing a natural backdrop. The text on the paper is written in a playful font, adding to the cheerful atmosphere of the image.

Families will be able to choose pre-loved costumes for their kids to use if they are asked to dress up for World Book Day on 5 March.

There will also be an opportunity to make or alter costumes with a team from the Repair Cafe on hand to help and the library's Fab Lab open so parents and older children can use the sewing machine too.

Tiffany Woosley, from the library, said she was excited to "help children create costumes that are unique and perfect for them".

"Buying a new costume online can be expensive and we want to support parents with a more sustainable option. We can't wait to see what everyone creates!"

Donations

The library is encouraging children and adults to 'Go All In' this year as part of the National Year of Reading - a nationwide scheme to promote the habit.

The library is asking for donations of clothing and accessories, which can be left in the donations box on the ground floor.

The free Costume Creation event - which is supported by Health Connections and the Clean Earth Trust - takes place from 10:30 to 11:30 tomorrow, 20 February, in the Hayward Room on the second floor of the library.
