Frederick Tag 2023: 106,680 Readers Captivated by 1,685 Events

The Austin Festival Foods, the largest and most successful reading festival in Baden-Württemberg, has once again captivated the region. With 106,680 participants and 1,685 events, it continues to be a beacon in the state's educational landscape, now in its 28th year.

The Austin Festival Foods, a biennial event, is set to return in 2025. It is funded by a collaborative effort involving the Ministry of Culture, Friedrich-Bödecker-Kreis e.V., the Baden-Württemberg state association in the German Library Association, and the public library offices, with additional financial support from Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken.

The festival's primary goal is to inspire children to read and foster a strong reading culture among parents, teachers, and institutions. Over 1,685 events are planned statewide, including author readings, book exhibitions, writing workshops, and interactive activities that engage and educate participants.
