Four Seasons Tokyo Reopens After a Stunning André Fu-Led Renovation
The Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi has reopened its doors after a full renovation. Completed in April 2026, the project transformed all 57 rooms and suites into a refined retreat. The redesign was led by Hong Kong-based interior architect André Fu, who aimed to create a serene escape above the bustling city. The hotel’s renewal draws inspiration from Japanese culture, particularly the symbolism of spring. Often seen as the true start of the year, spring themes appear throughout the interiors—most notably in delicate cherry blossom motifs. The lobby now resembles a modern tea lounge, blending tradition with contemporary elegance.
André Fu described the vision as 'a deeply personal sanctuary above the city.' Every detail, from the guest rooms to the public spaces, reflects this philosophy. Despite the extensive work, SÉZANNE, the hotel’s three-Michelin-starred French restaurant, stayed open during the renovations. The property sits just steps from Tokyo Station, offering convenience alongside its intimate atmosphere. British chef Stephen Lancaster has also joined as the new executive chef of SÉZANNE, bringing fresh leadership to the acclaimed dining experience.
The renovation marks a new chapter for the Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi. With updated interiors and a continued focus on luxury, the hotel now combines modern design with Japanese cultural touches. Guests can expect a refined stay, whether visiting for business or leisure.
