Forest Celebration Set for Forest Region Scheduled for 2025
On August 24, 2025, the Wiesbaden city forest will host the highly anticipated Forest Experience Day. This special event promises exciting encounters and memorable experiences for all attendees, making it an ideal opportunity to explore and appreciate the city's verdant green spaces.
The Wiesbaden city forest, which has been named "Forest Area of the Year 2025" by the German Forestry Association, showcases the diversity and liveliness of an urban forest. Since 2000, the city forest in Hesse has been a pioneer in FSC certification, an award for sustainable and near-natural forestry. This year, the Wiesbaden city forest team is celebrating 25 years of this prestigious certification.
The Forest Experience Day offers a unique and educational experience in nature for the whole family. Visitors can watch horse-drawn logging, experience firefighting technology demonstrations, or participate in various other activities. A highlight of the day will be the film screening of "The Fastnacht Confession" at Kaiser-Friedrich-Eiche.
The Wiesbaden city meadow, located near Kaiser-Friedrich-Eiche, was also named "Forest Area of the Year 2025" by the German Forest Foundation (Deutsche Waldstiftung). The city forestry office will open its gates at Kaiser-Friedrich-Eiche from 10:00 to 16:00 on August 24.
To make the day even more enjoyable, a snack stand, a coffee cart, and a drinking water station will be provided by ESWE with refreshments and small snacks. Furthermore, the Rhein-Taunus Nature Park will provide tips on hiking and cycling trails in the surrounding area, making the Forest Experience Day a starting point for further nature discoveries around Wiesbaden.
