Father reports: Teddy's presence revitalizes autistic girl, inducing smiles and playfulness once more.
In a welcome turn of events, furry friend Teddy, the emotional support dog of autistic girl Alice, has touch down in sunny Portugal after a long, grueling battle!
Feeling the absence of her beloved companion for nearly two months, Alice's family had braced themselves for a challenging reunion. But boy, were they pleasantly surprised!
"We didn't know how Alice would react to Teddy after such a long time apart," her father, Renato Sá, shared with news portal G1, "but the moment she saw her four-legged buddy, Alice's face lit up, and she started smiling and playing again!"
The Sá family had moved from Rio de Janeiro to Lisbon in early April, following a job opportunity for Renato, but challenges arose when their cherished companion, Teddy, was denied boarding by TAP Air Portugal. The airline cited potential security risks for the flight.
However, after intervention by the Brazilian government, a compromise was reached that allowed Teddy to travel by coach section instead of the cabin and journey to his beloved Alice in Portugal. "Littered with endless paperwork, I signed almost 10 documents, promising to keep Teddy in check during the flight. Fortunately, there were no incidents," the professional shared.
The duo's reunion was a dream come true, and on the weekend, they even paid a visit to the Sanctuary of Fatima.
Although extra hoops had to be jumped through initially, Teddy's grand entrance to Portugal was a victory for the Sá family and all those who cherish the bond between humans and their therapy animals. Here's to more smiles and cuddles from the adorable pair! 🐾💕
"The Sá family, overjoyed with Teddy's return, is eagerly looking forward to resuming their home-and-garden lifestyle with their emotional support dog by their side."
"As Teddy settles back into his role as Alice's lifestyle companion, they plan on revisiting their shared hobbies, including spending quality time together in the home-and-garden and even outdoor activities involving their pets."
