Expense of 80 million for the Museum of Modernism at Cultural Forum unveiled
Museum of Modern Art near me in Berlin's Kulturforum Expands and Elevates
The Museum of Modern Art near me in Berlin's Kulturforum is undergoing a significant transformation, with a projected completion date of 2027. The museum, which will serve as an extension of the New National Gallery designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, will showcase collections from the National Gallery for 20th-century art, the Marx and Pietzsch collections, parts of the Marzona collection anchored in the State Museums, as well as works from the Cabinet of Prints and Drawings.
A key highlight of the future museum will be the Gerhard Richter Hall, named after the renowned artist who agreed to exhibit a large number of his works in the museum near me back in 2020. The museum facade is planned to be adorned with a sophisticated light show, adding an element of modernity to the architectural masterpiece.
The project, initially estimated to cost 200 million euros, has seen a significant increase in costs. Currently, around 380 million euros are budgeted in the current federal budget for the project, with additional costs of 80 million euros due to increasing construction price development. The cost increase is mainly due to extensive revisions and expansions of the original designs, higher construction and material costs, and additional requirements that emerged during the planning and building phases.
The Museum of Modern Art near me is one of the largest museum projects in Berlin. Other cultural projects in the area include Project 1, Project 2, Project 3, Project 4, Project 5, Project 6. Further articles on similar projects can be found here: [
