Expanding its digital footprint, 99 Ranch Market joins forces with Temu to strengthen its e-commerce operations.

In a strategic move to boost its e-commerce sales and reach consumers nationwide, Asian supermarket chain 99 Ranch Market has partnered with online marketplace Temu. This collaboration has been instrumental in the growth of 99 Ranch Market, with the company achieving average biweekly sales growth of 20% as of early 2025.

Through Temu's platform, 99 Ranch Market has been able to access markets that were previously unreachable with physical stores alone, effectively breaking out of its regional footprint. This partnership fits into Temu’s "local to local" strategy, which supports local businesses in reaching a nationwide audience through Temu’s rapidly growing e-commerce infrastructure.

The partnership has been a significant success for 99 Ranch Market. Since scaling operations in February, the company has seen consistent growth on Temu. This growth has helped 99 Ranch Market expand beyond its traditional Asian-American community strongholds and major metropolitan areas.

In addition to its online expansion, 99 Ranch Market is also making strides in physical expansion. The company recently announced the opening of its first outpost in New York City, located at 37-11 Main Street in Flushing, Queens. This move marks a key expansion outside its typical West Coast and limited metro area locations.

The new store will also feature the company’s popular food hall, Eat Up. However, an opening date has not yet been scheduled. The Asian supermarket chain, which is owned by Tawa Supermarket based in Buena Park, Calif., currently has more than 60 locations across the country.

99 Ranch Market is not new to Temu. The company initially joined the platform in December 2024. Since then, it has become one of Temu's first pantry staple sellers. James Ho, senior director of e-commerce at 99 Ranch Market, stated that Temu's rapid growth in ecommerce caught their attention.

A Temu spokesperson stated that 99 Ranch Market is one of many American businesses finding success on the platform. The partnership has opened up markets for 99 Ranch Market that they could not reach with stores alone, allowing the company to sell its goods across the United States.

This combined online and offline expansion driven by the Temu partnership indicates a significant positive impact on 99 Ranch Market’s sales growth and national presence. As a "Pan-Asian Destination" that offers a wide variety of Asian products, 99 Ranch Market is well-positioned to continue its growth in the future. The company is currently ranked No. 88 on The PG 100, Progressive Grocer's 2025 list of the top food and consumables retailers in North America.

The three closest stores to New York City are in Jersey City and Hackensack, N.J., and in Westbury, Long Island. 99 Ranch Market's newest location, in Aliso Viejo, Calif., opened back in April of this year. Despite the recent expansion, the company is showing no signs of slowing down, with plans to continue growing both online and offline.

  1. The partnership between 99 Ranch Market and Temu has allowed the supermarket to sell food-and-drink products across the United States, reaching markets that were previously unattainable with physical stores alone.
  2. As part of its expansion strategy, 99 Ranch Market is venturing into technology, establishing a presence in the digital landscape by selling its offerings on Temu, an online marketplace.
  3. With the opening of new stores, such as the one in New York City, and the continued growth of its online platform on Temu, 99 Ranch Market is expanding its home-and-garden, lifestyle, and business operations beyond its traditional markets.
